Salted Roasted Pecans

Perfect Pairing:  Chocolate Sauce
IMG_0198

These little guys are a good thing.

They are great to have on hand in the freezer.   I would suggest buying the pecan halves at Costco or Sam’s.  They are much cheaper in bulk.

Salted Roasted Pecans are great on their own, would be fabulous on a cheese plate, or wrapped up as a hostess gift.  I paired them here with chocolate sauce and ice cream, which is a no brainer!  I have also used them on top of a yogurt parfait, and tossed in a spinach salad with pomegranate aerils, dried cranberries, and this dressing.  Delicious!

Salted Roasted Pecans

Adapted by Lindsay at Perfecting the Pairing from Jan S.

Ingredients:
·        2 lb frozen* pecan halves
·        1/3 cup butter, melted
·        Kosher salt

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F.  In a large bowl toss the frozen* pecan halves with the melted butter.  Spread onto a cookie sheet.  Bake for two hours, stirring once after 60 minutes.  After removing from the oven, sprinkle the pecans generously with kosher salt while they are still warm.  Allow to cool.  Keep in freezer until ready to use.
*It is important to use frozen pecans because the butter will adhere better than if they are at room temperature.
